What is Selank?
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro): the tetrapeptide tuftsin, a fragment of immunoglobulin G, extended with the same Pro-Gly-Pro tail as Semax. This tail slows enzymatic degradation. Molecular mass 751,9 g/mol, CAS 129954-34-3.
Research
Research on Selank primarily originates from Russian groups and uses preclinical models for anxiety and stress. A study in the Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine (2022) describes Selank in a rat model of morphine withdrawal; other work compares the effects of Selank and Semax on functional brain connectivity. As with Semax, part of this literature falls outside English-language publications.

Both carry the Pro-Gly-Pro tail, but the core differs: Selank is derived from tuftsin, Semax from ACTH(4-7). They have a different sequence, mass and CAS number.
