Safety Information and Handling
This page covers the handling, storage, and disposal of research material in the laboratory, not use in humans or animals.
Four rules that always apply
1. Handling
Work aseptically and use appropriate personal protective equipment: gloves, lab coat, and safety goggles. Avoid inhalation of powder and contact with skin and eyes. Leave the work to personnel trained to handle research materials and treat every product as potentially hazardous.
2. Storage
Lyophilised and unopened: at −20 °C, protected from light and moisture. After reconstitution: at 2–8 °C, protected from light. The duration for which a solution remains usable varies by substance and is specified under "Storage & handling" on the product page.
3. Disposal
Dispose of material and consumables in accordance with local regulations for laboratory waste. Sharps, such as needles, belong in a sharps container.
4. No human or animal application
All products are intended exclusively for laboratory and in vitro research. We do not provide medical advice or advice regarding use or quantities, including upon request.
What not to do
- Do not use in humans or animals.
- Do not handle outside of a laboratory environment.
- Do not shake lyophilised powder, and do not force the solvent onto the powder.
- Do not refreeze a reconstituted vial, unless the product information indicates otherwise.
